Duplex Stainless Steel
Duplex Stainless Steel
Duplex stainless steel strip, a mixed microstructure with about equal proportions of ferrite and austenite, was developed more than 70 years ago in Sweden for use in the sulphite paper industry.
High Strength Metal Strip
Duplex stainless steel metal strip has high strength even in the annealed condition.
Duplex stainless steel strip can be strengthened by cold work and has lower thermal expansion and higher heat conductivity than austenitic steel strip.
Corrosion Resistant Metal Strip
Duplex stainless steel metal strip has high resistance to
- Stress corrosion cracking in hydrogen sulphide and chloride environments
- General corrosion
- Pitting corrosion
- Crevice corrosion
- Corrosion fatigue strength
Applications for Duplex Stainless Steel Metal Strip
- Heat exchangers, tubes and pipes for production and handling of gas and oil
- Pipes in process industries handling solutions containing chlorides
- Utility and industrial systems, rotors, fans, shafts and press rolls
- Cargo tanks, vessels, piping and welding consumables for chemical tankers
