Metal strip edge profiling
Edge finished precision metal strip
- FLEXIBLE HOSE : metal wire reinforced rubber hose end collars (safe edge)
- PRESSINGS : usually the full strip width in the finished part (for fatigue life or as a safe edge)
- BANDING : for packing (as a safe edge)
- BANDING : for specialised applications e.g. electrical cable ties, off shore gas/oil, signage (as a safe edge for handling and to protect the banded item)
- PRECISION STRIP : having close width tolerances (to size control each coil)
- ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS : particularly connectors (edge shaped as a lead in for insertion)
- TUBE STRIP : for seam welded tube (shaped butting edges)
- EXPOSE EDGES : removal of metal plated onto the edges of strip prior to welding (also for non metallic coating)
- SHOCK ABSORBER STRIP : de-burred or rounded for improved fatigue life
- AUTOMOTIVE EXHAUST : to shape the seam for welding straight tube or produce a round edge suitable for the production of a flexible tube
- AUTOMOTIVE TRIM : to produce a safe edge
- HEATING ELEMENT STRIP : de-burred edge to protect insulation
- BEARING APPLICATIONS : bronze clad steel rolled into an open seam tube, edge chamfered on one edge and rounded on the other for easy insertion
- COTTER PINS : rolled from strip with a chamfered edge on one side for easier insertion
- TOOLS : straight edges, rules and squares (these tools need a smooth, square edge)
- WEAVING LOOM APPLICATIONS : strip used in weaving needs a smooth, square edge
- BAND SAW STRIP : edge rounded one side for improved fatigue life
- DOCTOR BLADE : for the printing industry (edge finished to give a burr free and smooth edge for inking)
- DOCTOR BLADE : for the paper industry (various edges from a burr free to a chamfered)
- SPRINGS : e.g. constant force and cantilever springs (a burr free or rounded edge for improved fatigue life)
- TOLERANCE RINGS : profiled edges to assist insertion
