Pure Copper
High purity copper strip is low in strength and hardness and has a high electrical and thermal conductivity.
Pure copper strip is used extensively for electrical conductors and a wide variety of other components carrying an electric current.
Pure copper strip can be strengthened to a limited extent by cold working and temper rolling of strip is a popular option.
Copper strip, not substantially alloyed, is available as:
- Oxygen bearing “tough pitch” copper strip
- Deoxidised copper strip
- Oxygen free copper strip
- Doped copper strip (with traces of arsenic, silver or other small quantity additions)
