These aluminium alloy strip materials use manganese, magnesium or both to provide moderate to high strength materials. Further strengthening is made possible by various degrees of cold work.
Characteristics
Properties of these aluminium alloy strip materials include good welding characteristics and corrosion resistance even in marine environments.
Additional specialised alloy metal strip properties can be achieved by alloying with silicon. The resulting alloy has a lower melting point and is used for brazing metal strip.
Applications
Aluminium alloys from this group are used for cookware.
